I am a experienced EMDR therapist that specializes in the treatment of trauma. I have worked with women experiencing birth trauma,
history of sexual assault and those experiencing PTSD, depression and anxiety.
Experience
I experienced birth trauma some years ago and I was fortunate to have a doula that supported me. I remember being told by family members to "get over it and be happy that I have a healthy baby." It wasn't that easy. I felt guilty for being traumatized. Since that experience, I have been working with women that area. I also specialize in sexual trauma. I have worked with women in instances where their babies were conceived through rape.
General information
At this time, I do not accept insurance. I do offer a sliding scale. Please check my website for any current groups being offered.

We run a free weekly drop-in support group for pregnant and new moms who are finding the emotional challenges of motherhood more difficult than they were expecting. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space to share our struggles as we discuss the realities of motherhood and support each other along our journey into new parenthood. We welcome moms who have experienced trauma or loss during pregnancy or birth. The group runs every Thursday at 1.30-3pm at Tiny Tots in Campbell. We provide free parking and snacks. Babies up to one year are welcome to join.
Experience
Pregnancy and birth can be a beautiful experience but for some of us it can leave emotional scars that take a long time to heal. This can have a huge effect on our ability to bond with our baby as well as take care of ourselves. I founded Supporting Mamas, a 501c3 organization, in January 2015 to help address the lack of resources for moms (and dads) who are struggling with emotional complications, such as pregnancy or postpartum depression or anxiety in Santa Clara County. After my own experience of postpartum anxiety and OCD, I wanted to do something to help other women in a similar situation to me by raising awareness and decreasing the stigma of maternal mental health issues. I am also a California state Coordinator and warmline volunteer for Postpartum Support International.

Services
In working with women who have experienced birth trauma, I can use various trauma-informed approaches to help my clients. EMDR, expressive arts interventions, and mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy are helpful, in addition to narrative therapy.
Experience
I have been in the field for over 20 years, in private practice since 2004. I was drawn to working with women's reproductive mental health after my own experience with perinatal depression. I am a 12 year volunteer with Postpartum Support International, and I also provide trainings to medical communities and clinicians. I write a blog for Psych Central, and historically for goodtherapy.org, The Minds Journal and others, some of the topics related to trauma recovery. As well, I have a podcast called The Savvy Shrink where I interview guests who are trauma-informed and discuss various modalities of healing.

Services
My name is David Shanley, and I am a therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders for adults and adolescents in Denver. I have my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the University of Denver. As an anxiety therapist, I use only research-based cognitive-behavioral interventions to help you approach, rather than avoid your anxiety. This has been proven to be the most effective way to treat anxiety disorders.
Experience
I practice from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT (pronounced like the action, to act) theoretical perspective. ACT is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that incorporates the use of strategies such as Exposure with Response Prevention, Mindfulness, Acceptance, and Committed Action to help clients learn to tolerate, sit with, and most importantly, APPROACH rather than AVOID, those thoughts, feelings, memories, sensations, behaviors, and situations that are unpleasant.
Experience
Psychotherapist specializing in birth trauma, post partum anxiety and depression as well as difficult transitions during and after the birth experience.
